We are well-prepared to guide you through production examinations or assist you in mastering the craft independently, with individualized target goals and specific specializations tailored to your interests. As part of your learning package, you will have the invaluable opportunity to engage in one-on-one sessions and shadow real live recording sessions with established artists, greatly enhancing your practical industry experience. Choose to specialize in your preferred role and learn a comprehensive range of skills, including production, recording, editing, and mixing techniques.

What can you become?

Music Producer

Learn the vital role of a music producer. Taking artist creations and bringing them to life. Combining elements of music and project management it will allow you to fully control the direction and feel of the song.

Recording Engineer

Learn the art of recording with tasks such as setting up and identifying different microphones, using recording techniques to capture sounds at a professional standard, along with all things related to the role of a recording engineer.

Mixing Engineer

Learn how to mix audio in various genres. You will be taught audio processing such as EQ, compression, reverbs, and more along with techniques to make the mix come to life and sound as good as it can.

Editing Engineer

Learn how to clean up sessions and prepare them for mixing. Learn the art of vocal tuning, audio editing and processing and preparing the edit getting it ready to be put through different and unique processes.

Q&A

What is the benefit of studying this privately with HP Music?

Studying privately with HP Music opposed from learning in a different environment will allow you to carve your own path, go at your own pace and learn exactly what you want to learn in a professional and private setting.

Do I have to learn all roles in the studio?

No. In your first stage of learning with us we will show you the different types of roles. You can then decide how you would like to progress in these different roles as many or as little as you'd like.

How do the shadow sessions work?

You can select to shadow on any genre of session per month included in your package (if the session allows it). You will also in later stages of learning be able to really take the reins in the sessions to get a real hands on experience.

Do I earn a qualification from this?

You can apply to be a part of the VQ qualification Levels 3 and 4 in collaboration with Rockschool in Creative Industries if you're interested in a longer-term path with us.

Can I put this down on my CV?

Yes. After you have been shadowing for a minimum of 6 months, you can put on your CV that you have been shadowing at HP Music Studios.
